The population growth rate is on the rise in the West Island and the number of public transit users continues to increase. Along with this new ridership, the Pierre-Elliot-Trudeau international airport, which is also in the West Island, wants to improve its public transport access. Major road construction planned for the next few years will also increase road congestion. We had to find a solution to all these challenges!
And so the West Island Mobility Plan was born. It’s a broad consensus-building process aiming to determine the best global solution in terms of public transit for the West Island.

The partnership office is divided into three committees: the strategic steering committee, the technical committee and the communications committee. Following analyses and an inventory of available resources, the technical committee made its recommendation at the end of 2013. The strategic steering committee is currently analyzing this recommendation. The project will be further developed over the course of the year.
